The Watson Association
The Watson Association exists to make life better for others and is the International welfare arm of CCCLiVE.TV
Established in January 2000 in honour of the late Pastor Ted Watson, Senior Minister and founder of Christian Community Church, The Watson Association aims to give hope and serve love through international aid.
The Watson Association is primarily “project” based, and currently has been involved in two projects internationally.
We believe that when we join together, great things are possible, and the effect for change that we can have is powerful!
Together with your help, we CAN make a difference.

Peddapuram Children’s Home, India
The first project of the Watson Association was the establishment of the Peddapuram Children’s Home in India, in 2001. Peddapuram is situated near Kakinada, approximately 700km north of Chennai. Fundraising commenced in 2001 and the children moved into the home (from the damp, cramped rented premises being rented) in April 2004.
The Children’s home is an orphanage for children of lepers, and 45 children call it home. The Watson Association has raised the funds to buy the block of land, and build a purpose-built home, with sleeping accommodation (boys and girls dormitories), classroom and living area, kitchen and bathroom facilities, along with a room for the house parents.
Further fund raising saw the addition of fruit trees for fresh fruit, play equipment, chickens, turkeys and a buffalo for fresh milk.
Each child is sponsored on a monthly basis ($40 per month), providing the funding for education, clothing, and wholesome meals. The children are cared for by loving live-in house parents, and a kitchen aid to help with the meals. Each of the children is also nurtured spiritually, takes part in Biblical studies, and most importantly has the opportunity to respond personally to the love of Jesus and accept Him as their saviour.
We believe that the children of India are no different from our children, in that they too need love and care. We know that they receive this at the Peddapuram Children’s Home, and that they have the opportunity to grow into mature educated adults who will have an effect on their country of India.
Because of the generosity and support of those who partner with The Watson Association, the children in the Peddapuram Children’s Home are given hope for a brighter future.
Are you interested in sponsoring a child in the Pedappuram Children’s Home?
We partner with COM (Christian Outreach Ministires) to administrate the home and facilitate the sponsorships.
COM is committed to providing quality care for destitute children in a uniquely Indian cultural context.
Sponsorship is $40 per month, with the sponsorship monies being pooled to ensure that each of the 45 children in the home are well cared for.
Several times a year COM will provide progress reports on the children in our home.

Daaba Medical Centre, Ghana
The people of the Atwima District, in the Ashanti Province of Ghana, West Africa, are in urgent need of a medical clinic. The Watson Association aims to meet that need by establishing a medical centre, complete with consultation room, recovery room, a laboratory and dispensary.
To this end, we are currently raising funds to see this project become a reality. Total cost for the project is approximately $220,000.00.
Land has been purchased in a town called Daaba, surrounded by many villages and small towns (outside of Kumasi), all of which will be serviced by the Medical Centre.
The land has been cleared, and the foundations dug. The estimated project length is a further 6 months, with the completion date tentative set for late 2010.
In Ghana, the rise of childhood mortality has become a major challenge. Every month, one in every nine children dies before their fifth birthday, from preventable diseases including malaria, acute respiratory infections, diarrhoea, measles, polio and malnutrition. Maternal mortality rates in Ghana are 90 times higher than rates in Australia.
In 2006 a partnership was formed with Hope for Health, a not for profit organization and registered charity founded by Griffith University (Gold Coast) Medical Students. Hope for Health has a vision for a world without health inequalities.
Hope For Health have raised over $60,000 towards the Daaba Medical Centre, and The Watson Association is grateful for their incredible support, as we together look forward to this project becoming a reality!
With funds already raised by the Watson Association, only $80,000 remains to be raised to complete this project, and we would welcome your support!
Upon completion of the building of the Medical Centre, The Watson Association will be gifting the medical facility to the nation of Ghana. The Ghanaian Government’s Ministry of Health have officially agreed to staff and administrate the Centre upon its completion in 2010.
